Walks

Oadby Hillwalking Club has an annual programme of monthly walks to hilly areas which are roughly within a 2 hour coach drive of Oadby on the southern edge of Leicester.  This allows us to visit the Peak District, south Pennines, Cotswolds and Shropshire.  Using a coach enables us to do linear or circular walks, with up to 5 different starting points accommodating walks of different lengths and varying degrees of hilliness.  Wherever your walk starts you will meet up with everyone else at our finishing location where there is always a pub and often a café.  Walk leaders are expected to get their groups to the finish at least half an hour before the coach departs to allow for refreshments and conversation.

In order to visit good walking areas further afield occasional (say twice a year) weekend trips are arranged, often where there is an opportunity for more strenuous activity for those who choose it.  Examples would be trips to Wales, the Lake District and Yorkshire.

For those who like to walk more often we also run mid month Sunday walks locally when people make their own way to the starting point.
