LAKE DISTRICT April 2018
The Via Ferrata Crew!
There are usually one or two trips a year to popular locations such as Snowdonia, the Yorkshire Three Peaks and the Lake District. Accommodation may be camping, hostels, huts or bed and breakfast with transport arranged between those taking part. These trips are advertised in the newsletter well in advance with details of accommodation options and costs. Some of these weekends offer the opportunity for more adventurous walking.
A successful trip to Snowdonia ran on 13-15 May 2016 another to the K-Shoe Hut in the Lake District on 14-17 October last year.
A trip to Coniston in April 2015 included climbing The Old Man of Coniston in variable weather, including a snow shower. Fortunately the next day was bright and sunny and the group greatly enjoyed a climb up to Stickle Tarn and then an elating scramble up Jack’s Rake, with superb views. The group continued to the summits of Harrison Stickle and Pike o’Stickle before descending to Dungeon Ghyll.
